About
The story behind the 27 Club Watch.
Brief 27 Club History
The 27 Club is a mysterious phenomenon in rock music history. It's a popular term for a group of popular musicians that died at the age of 27, under mysterious circumstances usually in a sinister way.
The 27 Club legend is more than a century old, however the phenomenon is more of a modern development.
The term became widely known after Kurt Cobain's 1994 death, reminding music fans of the loss of Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Brian Jones and Jimi Hendrix decades earlier. As the 1960s ended, the four luminaries all died within just two years of each other.
The death of Amy Winehouse in 2011 at age 27 attracted even more attention to the 27 Club. The Club was originally connected to musicians, however, people today include young actors and artists who have lost their lives too young.
At 27 Club Watch, we will cover many unfortunate and untimely deaths connected to the club.
